A great warrior once confronted a circumstance that required him to make a choice that ensured his victory on the battlefield. He was preparing to launch his forces against a strong adversary who had more soldiers than he had. He put his troops onto boats, sailed to the enemy’s land, disembarked the troops and equipment, and then issued the order to set fire to the ships that had transported them.
